About Us

This module was originally developed between 2012 and 2014 by the New York City-Long Island-Lower Tri-County Public Health Training Center under the grant award UB6-HP22830-01-00. This Public Health Training Center was a joint project between the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and Stony Brook, State University of New York’s (SUNY) Graduate Program in Public Health (SB-GPPH), in collaboration with the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH), and the five county health departments of Suffolk, Nassau, Westchester, Rockland and Putnam Counties.

The most recent version of this training is hosted by and was updated by the Region 2 Public Health Training Center under grant number UB6HP31685. This Public Health Training Center is a collaboration of Columbia University Mailman School of Public, Rutgers University Center for Public Health Workforce Development, the New York State Association of County Health Officials, and Impactivo LLC.

The Public Health Training Centers are funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration to improve United States public health infrastructure by strengthening the technical, scientific, managerial, and leadership competencies and capabilities of the current and future public health workforce.
